Making piecrust from scratch is not as hard as some people think. In fact this no fail crust recipe is made right in the pan. This is my best friend Elise's family recipe. She was an old-timey Kansas cook who never liked things that were too hard to make...yet wanted delicious pie! This piecrust certainly is tasty, light, and flaky. The crumb topping is incredibly wonderful too. OR do you prefer the more classic French Apple Tart? We're going to make that too! This is Julia Child's recipe and you will be amazed at how simple and delicious this beautiful little tart can be. The tea and coffee is on.

This class on home cooking will teach you to read recipes, measure, use simple cooking techniques plus choose supplies and equipment. Learn about slicing and dicing, and such basics as cooking rice and eggs, sauteing vegetables and more. You'll have the information and ideas to create a week's worth of menus that you can confidently prepare. With volunteers from the class, we'll make two kinds of omelets - a Classic Denver Omelet and a Tomato, Onion & Basil Omelet; made-from-scratch Tender Whole Wheat Biscuits; Minted Fruit Salad; and Brownies like you've never had from a box.
